I can't believe it's not...

...plastic! (and no, not butter!) Just came across this - papercraft robots. Yup, neato :P

Sooo purrrrrdy

I just found out about www.spaceweather.com from io9 and damn it's got some fantastic photos. They really help to put things into pespective, esp. the ISS pics.

Free falling...

If this actually happens, it'd be kinda interesting... but I wonder if they can track where it lands...
Origami spaceplane to launch from space station.

I've also put up the results of my playing with Colors! on my engterm... I wonder how long the site will last before account gets wiped...

Christobel wannabe...

I've always used the fact that I'm left-handed as an excuse for my poor drawings on my comp (as I use my mouse with my right hand)... Now, I don't have an excuse anymore, well sort of anyways as apparently there's a homebrew DS program called Colors! that's been out for a while and it lets you Paint in your DS, save the drawing AND playback your drawing step-by-step as well! Oh, and apparently you can email it from your DS as well, but I need a proper access point to test that since my router's a POS, and I think they're working on functionality to allow for collaboration on a drawing... So cool >< Anyway, here's a collection of drawings done by others. I basically tried to copy part of the art posted on Kotaku (before I saw the collection site has the actual file AND drawing history so I can review it later on :)) and have included it here:

Guess now that I can use my left hand to draw, I wonder how long it'll take before I can make something worthwhile...

[Edit]
I forgot to mention that one of my favourite games, Soul Calibur, is now adding Star Wars into the mix... Yes, you read that correctly! More info here from 1up. Man, with XBLA and this, soooo very tempted for a 360....

So cool

Johnny Chung Lee is smart. But why describe with words when you can just see for yourself what he recently did: Head Tracking for Desktop VR Displays using the WiiRemote.

Tales of the Past 3

In continuation of my last post, I finally managed to see Tales of the Past 3 of the Tales of the Past movies (blurb on wowwiki) and as I haven't exactly seen a lot of machinima, I don't have a lot to compare to. I don't even think capturing hordes of zealots in SC for our Dune project back in high school can even count. Anyway, since I now frequently check out Kotaku, I caught a glimpse of a blurb about a 90 min fan video of WoW... so obviously, I had to read on... After looking it up a bit, I decided to go for the whole 2.3gb dl as I was really curious what fan movie can last 90 min, esp. in wow... While dlding, I was able to watch parts 1 (~15 min) and 2 (~41 min) to get some background, and while they weren't the best, they weren't too bad either (besides, since I can't make one, I shouldn't really complain too much.) So finally comes part 3... Well, when he said think Advent Children, he wasn't kidding - it was literally wow+anime (there's even a mandarin song in there in addition to some anime music, lol!) Also, at times it just reminded me of DBZ, which may or may not be a bad thing :) Anyway, considering it's a fan film, it was surprisingly well made, though I'd guess that prolly only ppl who play wow will truly like it.

Wooo...

Surprisingly, it was a relative who sent me this link this time :P But anyway, it's so cool it's getting it's own entry: Paul Merton in China Mr Woo Robots.

And after the music video from the previous post, I decided to find some of the songs from 1 Litre no Namida (and yes, I know I talk about it, but it's still good/sad/inspirational regardless...):

Remioromen - 粉雪 (Konayuki)
K - Only Human

Craaazy...

Wingsuite mountain swoop and When Robot Programmers get bored.

Hearing that I'm going on a trip to cosplay country soon, I started receiving some cosplay vids.

As I'm a blizz fan, of course I must link to: Blizzcon 2007 costume contest

Being a narutard, I found some of these to actually be quite impressive and/or funny:

Another interesting link sent to me is of how to make a laser microphone for espionage.

Laser gun?

Two of my friends sent me links that I think could be related. Now that one of them has "quit" wow, I guess I'll be getting more stuff from him :)

US Army eyes truck-mounted laser.

And when keywords like terrorism, biotechnology/biomedical, and/or healthcare aren't enough to secure funding, I guess one can try to proceed on their own:

One of the vid I'm linking to is essentially a whole bunch of classic video game references all rolled into one and the second one is a speed painting of Bruce Lee... wow....
